Necessity Level And Responsibility
When this Company started, with two General Partners, husband and wife, Loren and Bonnie Troescher, Loren took on the title of Executive Director, using his Professional name of "Karl Loren."
When their daughter, Maia Mulvena joined the Company, and then showed potential as an employee, executive, partner, and ultimately sole owner at the death of Loren and Bonnie, she was appointed Executive Director. That was the original reason for the publishing of this Company Policy. Maia caused considerable harm to the Company, got caught, quit and that whole story is HERE.
At this point, June 18, 2007, Loren has reverted to being the Executive Director and this Company Policy is mostly a matter of historical record of the changes that have occurred in that position.
The text which follows must be read in light of the above data, current in 2007.
Maia Mulvena has been appointed as the Executive Director of Vibrant Life. This Company Policy puts that earlier decision into written Policy form. As of approximately September 2004, Mrs. Tracye Bell was appointed as Executive Director with Maia Mulvena taking the position of "ED I/T." Further information on future changes in this situation are described in a Company Policy entitled, Founder Karl Loren's Retirement Plan.
As of February 1, 2005, Tracye Bell was terminated as an employee of Vibrant Life. The background on "why" is best understood HERE. As a result of the changes related to this, I, Karl Loren, have resumed the position of ED with Maia Mulvena taking the new position of Deputy Executive Director.
Maia Mulvena subsequently resigned from the Company, turned back her partnership interest and, presumably, has no further future with Vibrant Life.
Loren C. Troescher, signing often as Karl Loren, and Bonnie J. Troescher, also known as Jean Ross, are the founders of Vibrant Life.
Karl Loren has had, for some time, the primary goal of training others to do all of the functions within Vibrant Life. Particularly there have been functions which it appeared only he was able to do and his particular objective has been to turn over to others these specific functions.
Karl has also appeared to be doing some “regular functions” of the Company, such as research, writing, publishing web pages and answering eMails. He does these and has not turned them over to anyone because, at the moment, we do not have others who will do them.
When a Company is small typically one guy does all the work – he creates a structure, sells the pills and collects the money. He usually does not differentiate, from minute to minute whether he is “organizing” or “producing.” He just does it. As a Company gets larger this “natural seam of activity” has to be analyzed and differentiated into different jobs for different people.
Effective August 9, 2004, Tracye Bell joined us, later terminated, as the "Esto Officer" and has as her job the "establishment of Vibrant Life." (She was later terminated.) This is best described in all the various Policies written by L. Ron Hubbard on this subject. The functions of an Esto Office are now taken by the ED, effective February 1, 2005 -- ie., Karl Loren.
As of the date of a revision of this Company Policy in July 2008, Steven Archibald was appointed as the Deputy ED and the ED Presumptive. He disagreed with the use by Vibrant Life of the Hubbard Management Technology, convinced the staff member with the longest seniority in the Company that it was OK to sue the owners because of their practice of their religion. Both of them left in disgrace.
The man who was then the technical man for converting the M/E Program to a new form took over for a brief period as Deputy ED, but he announced that it was "not on his purpose line," so Clifford Woods has taken over the position of "acting ED," making Tim the HCOES on the newly approved seven-division Org Board." Tim is now in charge of ethics, in addition to Promotion, and charged with getting the VSD stats into a viable range.
A danger condition was declared in July 2008, and the results of that handling included the departure of the two most senior staff members.
