Karl Loren Start Over

I have been thinking lately (as of November 4, 2008) of what I would do if I had to do to "start over" and it all came to me in a flash.

I'll write that here as an explanation of how anyone might "start for the first time" doing what I have done. I'll also include how I or anyone else would "start over" starting from where we are now.

My first action was organizational -- research to understand better the personal puzzles I had, mostly, then, about the causes of my mother's death from "heart disease."

My mother died of an aneurysm, a term I had no clue on. When I asked the doctor, my mother just dead, he said those fateful words of challenge to me, "No one knows the causes of heart disease." That was in November 1981. I didn't then realize it, but the challenge of "no one knows" was enough to start me on the whole journey and such challenges were and are still causative for me. (An aneurysm (or aneurism) is a localized, blood-filled dilation (balloon-like bulge) of a blood vessel [artery] caused by disease or weakening of the vessel wall.)

An earlier similar "puzzle" involved religion, philosophy and God. This challenge brought me to find Scientology as I had, much earlier in life, left my "standard" protestant church to find Christian Science and its mental healing. Then, finding it inadequate, began an intense search to find "it" and recognized "it" instantly on finding Dianetics.

I am a solver of puzzles. How I solve puzzles is already written, but THAT I solve puzzles is more fundamental.

The "heart disease" was a personal quest that started without much thought of the enormous published library I would come to build. I had no thought, then, of promoting what I was finding to others, but as I saw, more and more clearly, that there was a fundamental ruin of society -- death from heart disease -- and that this cause of death was NOT understood and was treated with barbarian methods, it came to me that I had a duty to tell others about my findings, and then, to provide them the products that I found, then created, that would serve as far better remedies than the drugs and bypass surgery which were "standard."

I then wrote a book (Life Flow One) and in a short time more I wrote a second edition (100 more pages, also entitled "Life Flow," Second Edition) published in paper, then later on the web here or click on the image to the left. I composed that work on MS Word, including all formatting, page numbering and images -- I was able to present camera ready copy to the publisher.

(I then autographed, personally, every copy I GAVE OR SOLD, By then I was already publishing a newsletter for an annual fee, and gave each buyer of the Book a free subscription for one year.

 

The Original Line of Marketing

On this line of thoughts and actions, one of the first outflow activities I ever did was to write promotional messages. Originally they were sent to my very small mailing list, including all the "book buyers" through the US Post Office. Then, as I got more and more names in my data base, I took time off from marketing to create the tool I would use to handle those names (that actually took many months and was coincident with my marketing outflow -- since only an "outflow" creates an "inflow" of money to expand the organization and provide resources for expanded marketing.

I then shifted over to printing my newsletters on paper for mailing, still through the Post Office, but now I started to learn about bulk postage rates and entered another organizational phase where I eventually was purchasing name lists, even using a "mailing house" to merge my (large) database to a form letter and produce a semi-personal promotional letter -- addressed to one person (with his name and address, etc.) then sometimes sent out in the thousands as my database grew.

This phase, perhaps called "paper/post office" promotion continued until I had (as another organizational phase) started to publish my research writings on a web site. The first web site was www.karlloren.com and I put EVERYTHING on that one web site (the stuff is still there, but the early pages is now mostly out of reach of the navigation menu). This organizational phase of web publishing continued and expanded eventually into 50 different web sites, with me publishing new pages, eventually over 100,000 pages. All research and organization of the technology of web publishing.

Coincidentally with all this basic (research) organization, being my personal research and writing, I did NOT organize an organization and did NOT have a group which could convert my plans into actuality. Thus, since I had done it all (research) before anyway, I continued (research) organizing while usually being the only one who also did any promotion.

I hired "helpers," often part-time high school students, to do things like stuff literature into envelopes or pack up "pre-packs" of four bottles of a popular item in a carton, ready to ship out. I certainly did NOT post from the top down in that organization.

I evolved into a "hey you" org which stayed small enough that it worked OK when I was small but failed miserably when I thought to place my daughter, Maia, in charge. She probably followed my "hey you" model while I stopped being the "one-star" in the team and she then followed her own instincts:

Before my daughter joined Vibrant Life I had already moved into marketing with my "The Wednesday Letter," as a newsletter which gave me the vehicle for continuing my research, but now publishing it in a more direct marketing sense than relying on the passive web pages to deliver the information to people who were pro-actively looking for that type of info.

The Wednesday Letter was probably my first real effort to capture identities and have names I could put into a database -- thereby triggering a need for a database system -- thus my organizational research moved from JUST research to "research and publishing web pages, then electronic newsletters" and along in here, somewhere, the need for a computer database facility became obvious.

It was cutely named "The Wednesday Letter" in order to take an ordinary word and give it a very special meaning. (I rather hoped and expected that if you place "The Wednesday Letter" in quotes into a Google Search service, you will get many links, and many of them will be mine. This didn't prove better since others seem to use that common phrase without giving it a "special meaning" and, Google found the phrase "Wednesday letter" (without the capital "L" and without the word "The") and still counted that as a "hit."

However, the term did come up ranked first and second of some 24,000 times the term came up with different formatting:

I believe that as long as I was doing the research on the "ruins" of society, and publishing, the Company did fine -- still a "hey you" org, but the important work was still done by me.

I no longer am interested in that research subject, much preferring the "LLC System" as having greater valuable impact on society, and am eager to turn my research tools onto this new subject.

If I HAD to start over by myself, it is, just now, a puzzle of how I would do that (even if I were willing to).

Fortunately someone else has come along who can make up for my deficiencies and I am pleased, here, to suggest how he might go forward from this point in Vibrant Life's state of existence.

I think I am good at OBSERVATION, the step necessary just before PLANNING, and therefore I am eager and willing to write MY PLANS for what I think will be successful. I've started this new Company Policy HERE, to describe the plans I've come up with so far and will add to that page from time to time. I will also write, privately, some "plans" (bright ideas) which may extend well beyond Vibrant Life.

I have published the Company Policy on FUTURE PLANNING, which includes the appointment of Clifford Woods as Planning Director.

Thus, MY PERSONAL Plan for "starting over" would be to rely on all that I have already done, and put into place, including the appointment of the Director of Planning to take OTHER plans into actuality. That done, there then remains whatever further functions I expect to cover besides the presently considered "PLANS" that are being, or will be, taken care of by the Director of Planning.
